The story of the Old Testament is that of God setting apart a Covenant people unto himself to receive His law, to settle in His promised land and to build a culture where they could glorify Him and enjoy Him forever.

As man transgressed, this covenant and culture regressed, The story of the New Testament is that of the Son of God settling on earth, laying down his life and rising again to restore God’s Covenant people; that we might enjoy eternity in heaven with Him.  Jesus Christ the Son calls us to receive his righteousness by grace through faith and to impact our culture today by proclaiming this Good News of grace and salvation.

Christ’s call to spread His Good News and to impact our culture for His sake and His glory will be the topic of a weekend conference entitled “Christ and Culture.” This conference will be open to the public, hosted by Spring Hills Presbyterian Church in our recently completed center of ministry.

Our featured speaker will be Dr. Harry Reeder, Senior Pastor of Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama.  Dr. Reeder is a gifted preacher, author, and historian.  He will be speaking from 7-9pm on Friday April 27, and from 9-11am on Saturday April 28.  Dr. Reeder will also preach at our 10:30am worship service on Sunday April 29.

Refreshments will be served after the conference on Friday night and before the conference on Saturday morning.  SHPC will host a church wide potluck after worship on Sunday, open to all visitors and guests.  More details will be forthcoming for event registration.  Please reserve those dates and pray for a fruitful time of study, reflection, and a powerful movement of the Spirit of God as we seek wisdom and guidance toward faithful Gospel life and witness.
